A Place to Perch

Psalm 55:6 (NIV)
I said, "Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest--

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Yes, I do live in a little house under the weeping willow tree but there's also a large fir tree in our yard where the birds perch in its branches to safely chatter and sing.   At times I have to stop and marvel at how many must be up there because of the sound of their symphony!   It's a bit like their pastor has told them to stand up in their pews and shake hands with their neighbors.   When Christians congregate to worship God we are strengthened and renewed.   For those, like me, who are prone to fall asleep in church we find rest.   Either way it's good to be in God's House. where we can fly away home to roost.
