We Living Houses

1 Peter 2:4-6
New International Version (NIV)
The Living Stone and a Chosen People

4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”[b]
2 Corinthians 5:17
English Standard Version (ESV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[a] The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
My little house under the weeping willow tree could be generously called a cozy cottage.  It had a sweet look to it, a setting that would appeal to those who romanticize a simpler life.  Living there I learned that cottage living wasn't all that.   I missed cupboards that closed, closet space, high ceilings, windows that let in light, and just room to breathe.  I'm thankful to be in this house of the level path.  It isn't as lovely as the house we lost, but it's a good house, more than sufficient for me and mine, not a dream house but a real one.  I like this quote by C.S. Lewis.  I'd like to think that God is indeed building me into a palace.  I don't see His palace design, hampered by my cottage feelings; but, if it's how God sees me, I'll accept the grace of His vision.  I'll trust the Builder.

"Shadowfeet"

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
towards home, a land that i've never seen
I am changing; less and less asleep
made of different stuff than when i began
And I've sensed it all along
fast approaching is the day

[CHORUS:]
when the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and the mountains fall on their knees
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you

There's distraction buzzing in my head
saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
but I've heard rumours of true reality
whispers of a well-lit way

[CHORUS]

You make all things new

[CHORUS]

[CHORUS 2:]
When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you
