Rend My Heart
Hosea 6:6 New English Translation (NET Bible)
6 For I delight in faithfulness, not simply in sacrifice;
I delight in acknowledging God, not simply in whole burnt offerings.
Psalm 51:16-17New English Translation (NET Bible)
16 Certainly you do not want a sacrifice, or else I would offer it;
you do not desire a burnt sacrifice.
17 The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit—
O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
16 Certainly you do not want a sacrifice, or else I would offer it;
you do not desire a burnt sacrifice.
17 The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit—
O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
I was disappointed today when I couldn't upload a lovely new song by Selah, "Broken Ladders." Sometimes that happens with copyright laws and it really is okay; but I was still disappointed that my efforts were for naught, or so I thought. Sometimes the process is what is important to God not the result. What is it that he wants to do in me? What does He want me to learn? It needed to be something more than a time filler, while my husband was deep into watching "March Madness" on the television, and in the making it did become so. I spent time with God, and that's never a waste. So I shall rend my heart and not my garments and turn to the Lord my God.

Take the Plunge
Psalm 42:7-8 New English Translation (NET Bible)
7 One deep stream calls out to another at the sound of your waterfalls;
all your billows and waves overwhelm me.
8 By day the Lord decrees his loyal love,
and by night he gives me a song,
a prayer to the living God.
Psalm 36:5-6 The Message (MSG)
5-6 God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.

You Know The Way
John 14:1-4 New English Translation (NET Bible)
Jesus’ Parting Words to His Disciples
14 “Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you. 3 And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too. 4 And you know the way where I am going.”
Alzheimer's disease is a long journey of loss; and, sadly, those who are taking that journey become unable to articulate it for those of us who aren't. I watch my mother and wonder how lonely is this terrible path she's walking. Then I remember Jesus walks beside her and am comforted and pray that she is comforted as well. Jesus will lead her home and she will know the way.

Still Singing!
For the Love of My King - Laura Story
My Jesus, I Love Thee
My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
Author: William R. Featherstone
It was written when the young William was 12-16 years old.
He died at age 27, but he's still singing
in Glory.

Faith of Our Mothers
Proverbs 1:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction,
and forsake not your mother's teaching,
Romans 10:17 English Standard Version (ESV)
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
I learned about my need for Jesus from my mother and I am thankful. She has Alzheimer's now; but, because she has taught me of a Savior who will never leave me, I know in the same way He will never leave her. That's a comfort. She has lost much here but she'll soon gain eternity. Actually, she gained eternity the moment she first believed. I cherish the legacy of faith passed from my grandparents, to my parents, to me and to my son. It's why Laura Story's new song, "Give You Faith" touched my heart.
Give You Faith - Laura Story
I see your tiny face
Your fingers wrapped in mine
And I wonder how I'll raise
This precious gift of life
I'd give you all my money
But you can't buy what you'd need
I'd show you all the world
But more than anything
I wanna give you faith
I wanna leave you hope
That you would know a love that
Never let's you go
More than wisdom or wealth,
More than happiness or health,
May you say I gave you faith
I'm gonna let you down
I'm gonna disapoint
But there's a love I found
That's sturdy in the storm
The very God who formed you
Gives grace enough for us
And though I won't be perfect
I'll teach you to trust
Oh, and there will come a day
When you question everything
And the very ground beneath you
Starts to shake
That all I can offer is a prayer from far away
To the One who's never left you
She will give you faith
He'll give you hope
He'll be the love that will never let you go
More than wisdom and wealth
More than happiness and health
May you say, I gave you faith
May you say, I gave you faith

Courage, Dear Heart
Psalm 27:14 English Standard Version (ESV)
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
Isaiah 41:13 English Standard Version (ESV)
13 For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.”
“Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid.”
― Frederick Buechner, Beyond Words: Daily Readings in the ABC's of Faith
Often times it's a mystery to me to discover what song God wants me next to upload. It starts with an image that makes me pause then there's the song. This week it was "Daylight" by J J Heller. Her inspiration for the song was her own battle with panic attacks. I believe there are many hurts both physical and emotional that can keep us on the inside looking out. It's scary out there but we are kept by a big, courageous and loving God. Battle on, warrior, battle on.
Daylight - J J Heller
Lord, I’ve been afraid for so long
I’ve prayed so many times to be strong
I sit here in the desert making circles in the sand
But you’re telling me you’re the promise land
There is an inch of daylight underneath the door
It’s enough for me to fill up my canteen
Food and water are only buying time
If I want to live, Your love is what I need
I’m scared to death of taking the wrong turn
Peace is something nobody can earn
There’s no chance now of losing when you’ve given me Your love
You healed the disease I was dying of
There is an inch of daylight underneath the door
It’s enough for me to fill up my canteen
Food and water are only buying time
If I want to live, Your love is what I need
Be near me
Be near me now
Be near me
Be near me now
There is an inch of daylight underneath the door
It’s enough for me to fill up my canteen
Food and water are only buying time
If I want to live, Your love is what I need
If I want to live, Your love is what I need
