What Matters

Romans 2:9-11 ESV

There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality.

John 8:32  (ESV)

and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

My husband and I were on a country drive last evening, one of those things we are more inclined to do during pandemic closures, when we came upon this one room schoolhouse, I remembered that I had.been there before as a child on a country drive with my family, something my parents were inclined to do with their large brood and no money to entertain us.  We found the blackboard inside decorated with this oh so current message.  It's a lesson that we are still learning, and it breaks my heart that it is taking us this long. What matters to God should also matter to us all.

Wear The Mask

Galatians 5:13 English Standard Version (ESV)

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Mark 12:31 New International Version (NIV)
31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[a] There is no commandment greater than these.”

Yesterday I saw a man running up the street wearing a red, white and blue tutu while waving matching pom poms, but without a face mask.  With all that why not wear the mask?  It could be argued that running outside was not a big risk, but was he asking for the curious to come his way or to stay away?  Next Tuesday it will be law in my state to wear a mask.  It's seems too easy of a thing to have stirred up such dissent but it has.  I am wearing a face mask and am glad to even uncomfortably do so.  Just three things to remember: wash your hands, maintain six feet of distance, and wear a face covering.  Please do so.  Love yourself and your neighbor.
