29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
I've been considering the song by Jon Foreman, "The Cure for Pain," and all the ways I try to avoid pain, drawing water from broken cisterns of my own making instead of Christ, the source of living water. Why I don't go straight to the source can be nothing but foolish pride. I suffer more trying to escape suffering rather than accepting the gift of suffering for His sake. God has a reason and a purpose for my pain. I need not reject it.
