Free Indeed

Isaiah 61:1 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Good News of Salvation

61 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,

Because the Lord has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

We may not be free of physical or mental illness; we may not be free of consequences; we may not be free of the evil in this world; but we are yet free if we have the Savior.  Our ransom has been paid.  Our sin is forgiven.  Death has been conquered, all through the blood of Christ.  Our bodies may be chained but not our souls.  Yes, we are free indeed.
