State Fairs and Scones

Joel 2:25
New International Version (NIV)
25 “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm[a]—
my great army that I sent among you.
Psalm 100:1-5
English Standard Version (ESV)
His Steadfast Love Endures Forever

A Psalm for giving thanks.

100 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2     Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;[a]
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

I've been trying to be a brave soldier tonight, but it isn't always easy being the one left at home.  My guys are at the state fair tonight; although, as I look at the clock, I'm hoping they're on the way home.  I wanted to go, I really really did; but I knew my rheumatoid arthritis would likely make me miserable. So I waved goodbye and told them to have a great time, at the same time reminding them to bring home scones.  I won't be denied all pleasures in life.  In the meantime I'm trying to be thankful for all the pleasures God does give me in the house of the level path.  Disappointment happens.  There's going to be a grand fair in Heaven one day and I'll be there.
